📋 Step-by-Step Guide (6 Steps)
Cut Plywood to Console Dimensions
Rip and crosscut your 3/4-inch plywood into top, bottom, outer side panels, and interior dividers using a track saw or table saw. Ensure the top and bottom pieces are identical in length and width to prevent carcass distortion. Label each piece's orientation on painter's tape to maintain continuous grain patterns.

- • Cutting pieces without accounting for the saw blade kerf width (typically 1/8 inch)
Route Undermount LED and Cable Channels
Clamp the bottom panel face-down and set your router fence 1 to 2 inches from the back edge. Route a shallow 1/4-inch-deep dado channel spanning the bottom surface to inset the aluminum LED track flush. Drill a 1-1/2-inch hole with a Forstner bit or hole saw through the back edge of the divider panels for wire routing.

Apply Edge Banding to Front Faces
Lay iron-on edge banding along the front-facing edges of all cut panels. Run a hot iron slowly along the strip to melt the adhesive, then press firmly using a wood scrap block. Once cool, trim the flush edges using an edge banding trimmer or a sharp razor knife held flat.

Drill Pocket Holes and Assemble Carcass
Drill pocket holes on the hidden faces of the dividers and bottom panel spaced 6 inches apart. Apply a thin bead of wood glue along mating surfaces, clamp the carcass together using corner clamps, and drive 1-1/4 inch pocket screws. Measure diagonally corner-to-corner to verify the entire box is square before the glue sets.

Mount the French Cleat to Wall Studs
Locate and mark at least two wall studs using a stud finder. Fasten the matching cleat segment securely to the top interior back of your media console.

Hang Console and Install LED Lighting
Lift the console with an assistant and slide its integrated cleat over the wall-mounted cleat until fully seated. Cut the aluminum channel to length, screw it into the routed bottom groove, and adhere the LED strip inside. Snap the frosted diffuser cover over the track and route the power cable through the pre-drilled internal grommet.
