How to Build a Simple Cheap Workbench

Measure and Cut 2x4 Frame Members
Measure and mark four 34-inch leg pieces, four 48-inch long frame rails, and six 21-inch cross braces. Guide your circular saw along a speed square to guarantee 90-degree square ends across all cuts. Keep identical pieces stacked together to verify matching lengths.

Assemble Top and Bottom Ladder Frames
Form two identical 48-by-24-inch rectangular frames by placing cross braces between two long rails at both ends and in the center. Pre-drill pilot holes to prevent splitting near grain ends, apply wood glue, and drive two 2-1/2-inch screws into every joint.
